Mandatory Engineering Delivery Boundary & Professional Practice Notice
What PAMCET Delivers Online:
- PAMCET delivers comprehensive online engineering curricula, interactive lectures, mathematical derivations, circuit simulations (SPICE, Proteus), digital logic simulations (Logisim, ModelSim), processor architectural modeling (gem5), and embedded firmware emulators (QEMU, Wokwi).
- Students engage in verified cloud-based EDA workflows, synthesizable Verilog HDL verification, packet capture decoding (Wireshark), ROS 2 robotics physics simulations (Gazebo), and TinyML neural network quantization.
- Formative and summative assessments evaluate computational engineering calculations, algorithmic complexity, circuit design schematics, and simulation performance benchmarks.
Physical Facilities & Accreditation Requirements:
- Computer Engineering is a regulated physical engineering discipline requiring hands-on breadboard circuit assembly, soldering, oscilloscope waveform measurements, PCB fabrication, and physical hardware debugging.
- Online completion of PAMCET modules does NOT confer a statutory professional engineering license, nor does it replace mandatory physical laboratory sessions and supervised industrial attachments (SIWES).
- Statutory title and registration as a Registered Engineer (Engr.) in Nigeria is strictly governed by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) under the Engineers (Registration, etc.) Amendment Act, requiring formal physical graduation from an accredited university faculty.
- Graduation requires completion of 24 weeks of supervised physical industrial attachment (SIWES) and an in-person, verified physical prototype demonstration for the Final-Year Capstone Project.
The curriculum architecture is mapped to the Washington Accord Graduate Attributes (WA1–WA12) and IEEE/ACM CE-2016/CE2024 curricula. International mobility or professional registration requires credentials verification and relevant national licensing examinations (e.g. FE/PE in the USA via NCEES, CEng in the UK via the Engineering Council).
B.Eng. Computer Engineering Curriculum
An integrated undergraduate engineering discipline combining Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Hardware, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Digital Systems, Computer Architecture, Control/Automation, and Capstone Engineering Design.
Engineering Foundations
Calculus, Physics I/II, Chemistry, Drawing, Workshop, and C Programming.
Electrical & Digital
Circuit Theory I/II, Devices, Digital Logic, OOP C++, Data Structures, Assembly.
Systems & Embedded
Processor Design, Microcontrollers, FreeRTOS, FPGA, Networks, DSP, Control & SIWES.
Advanced & Capstone
Parallel Systems, Edge AI, VLSI SoC, Hardware Security, Distributed Systems, Capstone.
Engineering Progression Philosophy
Computer Engineering at PAMCET is structured as an authentic professional engineering programme. It strictly rejects the reduction of the discipline to generic web development or high-level scripting. Students progress coherently:
Calculus, General Physics, Chemistry, Manual Drafting, Workshop Practice, and Computing Fundamentals in C.
DC/AC Circuit Theory, Semiconductor Devices, Digital Logic, OOP in C++, Data Structures, and Assembly Language.
Pipelined Processor Design, Microcontrollers, FreeRTOS, FPGA Verilog Synthesis, Computer Networks, DSP, Control, and SIWES.
Multi-core Architectures, TinyML Edge AI, VLSI SoC Design, Hardware Security, Distributed Systems, Industrial Automation, and Capstone Project.
