Course Overview

Socket programming (TCP/UDP), non-blocking I/O, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), cryptography (AES/RSA), and TLS/SSL. Curriculum Structure & Core Modules: • 1. Socket Programming Concepts: Stream Sockets (TCP) vs Datagram Sockets (UDP) Architectures • 2. POSIX Socket API in C:...

What You'll Learn

  • Develop multithreaded and event-driven network socket clients and servers in C/Python using TCP and UDP.
  • Analyze intra-domain (OSPF) and inter-domain (BGP) routing protocols and link-state convergence algorithms.
  • Implement symmetric (AES) and asymmetric (RSA, ECC) cryptographic encryption/decryption routines.
  • Apply cryptographic hash functions (SHA-256) and digital signatures for data integrity verification.
  • Analyze the Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3) handshake protocol and configure secure communication channels.

Requirements

  • Completion of CPE 305 and CPE 307.
